The Palace of Westminster, or the Houses of Parliament of the United Kingdom, is in my eyes (probably) the most beautiful building I’ve ever seen. There are many quite beautiful buildings in the world; however, this iconic landmark in London is hugely special. The closeness to the River Thames, gives us the most wonderful reflections in it. The sand-coloured magnesian limestone in sunshine allows Westminster to look like a golden palace. The perpendicular gothic style makes me wonder, how it is possible to build a stable structure which looks like a delicate openwork of finest lace.
I just love this building; this is why I‘ve played for long time with the idea to paint Westminster… Finally I did it. It is an almost impossible upside down, mirrored, reflection. The reflection you see in my painting is maybe possible from the point of view of the jumping lady; however, I couldn’t ask her what she has seen. She was too busy with her jump over the Thames.
If you think that my painted reflection is very possible, go to Westminster and check it; make a photo and surprise me. OK?
The painting doesn't need any frame and is ready to hang. In case you prefer framed images on your walls, you can always frame this artwork using floater frames for example.
The painting comes with my certificate of authenticity.
