Artist's description:

City on fire awaiting an on comping tidal wave an apocalyptic vision.
This work took me a number of days to complete laying down texture moulding past and applying wash as background to paint. I had no real vision after the preparation for painting.
Textural effects after laying down mat moulding paste mixed with marble dust what highlighted with the muted colour wash applied over this. The initial texture and colour was rock like with highlights in earthy tones. Red pallet was used to bake a central devision using solid paint and a pallet knife exploring shades and texture.
The blues were then laid down after allowing the red to dry applied in the horizontal plane. The blues of the wave were applied perpendicular to the red flowing and laying over 3 layers of colour working while the paint was wet blending shades. The earthly shades were highlighted with gold and bronze metallic to add depth and highlights.
Finally light highlights were added to blend transition between the red and blue hues.
A coat of varnish was added to seal the painting and provide some shine income areas allowing other areas to remain mat
The painting was then left to dry and the picture was hand framed by my self in Beach wood finished with beeswax Finnish ready for sale.
The painting changes depending with light which is hard to show through pictures.
