Remembering a magical moment from my scuba diving days... If you have dived the Caribbean reefs you will know that moment, when you suddenly realize you are being overtaken by a school of Creole Wrasses. Turning to look at them, you face a seemingly endless, oncoming stream of blue, sparkling fish that dart and move around obstacles on the reef, parting to flow around you and regrouping on the far side, moving as one unit.
I wanted to capture the dashing, relentless energy of the school, the lively flashes on the fish, from the darting, sideways movements of their pectoral fins, and the colour flashes of turquoise and silver on the sapphire bodies.
This painting is acrylic on canvas and framed in a real wood, white, inset tray frame, ready to hang.
