This piece was conceptually all over the place in the very beginning. I first began painting the piece with a outcome and statement in mind when, as always, I had to step back and take a look at what I have done. What initially was going to be a statement on the leather industry, turned into a more interesting piece of emotion. I scraped the leather I had scavenged, ripped out the threads, and focused on the pure emotion of things. I really loved the way that the face came out. It spoke to me, it wasn't capable of bringing such a harsh reality. Frankly , the more I looked at it, the more I seemed to see myself. Not in the sense that I'm a cow, but more the the facial expression. The different outlined sections are the prime meat that I love and that I love to cook. Now that I come to look at it, this is probably all of the beef that I have been eating lately talking.

This piece was also the home of a very interesting experiment. Useually I prefer to paint my paintings in a very matte manor, this keeps colors bold and emotion untampered. In this piece I used a different base. One that is 100% organic, environmentally friendly, hand made, and gives it a nice clean shimmer when exposed to light. The base? well I will have to say that it is from a seed. The rest is magic and possibly a hidden secret of mine.
