This artwork is the result of many many hours of painting. Trying to capture the expression, and the cultural nature of every faces. How to show in different shadows that in the end we are all the same when it comes to the heart matter ? This is what Modka tried to do here. Every powerful detail shows how fragile we are.
But still, in blue we have hope. And in this painting, we can see a scream for equality and tolerance.
Words from the artist :
"What if we all had the same skin color ? What if we all were blue ?
Nothing to distinguish us but our lines, our expressions, our emotions.
Now, what if, even if we all look like different, culturally, physically, never with the same opinion, the same way to dress, to talk, to sing, to hear, to touch, but to feel ?
In a gentrification way of living, where everyone wants to eat fucking avocado, made with the same recipe. Where everyone wants to wear the same Nique shoes, ear the same noisy music, are we going to loose our cultures ?
What if ?
Anyway, if we all live the same way, won't we all have the same anguish and anxiety, the same blue ?
We look like the same, but we are not equal.
We all feel the same, but we are not even. "
Oil painting and spray.
