Original artwork description:

This oil sketch is a painting from an area of Cortona painted in 1992 on a field trip to Italy. The painting is a study in oil of an area of Cortona looking at the way the buildings are closely packed together and explores the angles and forms of the buildings, with a little of the sky seen through them in the background, using the brown colours of the building to create a calm image.
The painting is painted on a found piece of wood from the farmhouse we were staying in Tuscany.
