Artist's description:

Corpore Florem is latin for Body Flower which is fitting for this abstract painting of a dissected human thorax. My goal with this painting was to subtly display the dissection but hide the gross anatomical features within the abstract landscape of the painting.

This artwork started as a rough pencil sketch which I finished as a digital painting using similar hues to camouflage the body within it. My anatomical art is inspired greatly by 17th c. anatomical artists and this painting was inspired specifically by a master of anatomical illustration, Paulo Mascagni (1755-1815).

Actual image size is 12"W x 18"H. There is a 1" border around the image making a final cut size of 14"W x 20"H.
