Artist's description:

The heat is palpable, the sky blue to its core. The town is quiet, but for the gentle, rhythmic chiming of a church bell. I inhale pine, as sweet as myrrh, as gentle as honeycomb. Roses bloom, wild and delicate. This island is not quite Greek, no longer Venetian. An ancient town, at odds with the mass tourism further away. I smell the brine and fish from the harbour, strong black coffee and doughy pizza with spices. Magic and light, shadows and colour.
It is a lovely, cheerful work and can hang without the need for further framing.
