As with all my paintings this was created by first layering washes of watercolour and then the images began to appear on the paper and in this case a strangely serene fantasy coral reef habitat emerged complete with undiscovered underwater creatures.
The watercolour technique I use makes the finest watercolours, mediums, paper and brushes necessary so each painting represents a considerable investment of my time and money. The paper is properly stretched first to enable multiple thin layers of wash to create a layer of colour that sits on the paper and is not pushed into the paper, damaging it and dulling the colour of the pigments. This allows light of the paper to shine through the watercolours creating vitality and infinitely variable tones.
My artwork is of archival quality on stretched acid free cotton rag paper that frames beautifully flat. Whoever invests in this painting can be assured of a professionally finished piece of original art that will last lifetimes.
This painting will be posted in a thick cardboard lined envelope.
