Copper is soft and ductile metal; it must be alloyed with other metals, getting brass or bronze, before it can be used for constructive purposes. From the name of the island of Cyprus was the name of copper (copper). The name copper comes from the Latin cuprum, in turn from Greek Kyprus. In ancient times, Cyprus was the main source of copper in ancient times, the presence of Venus was associated only with places such deposits of copper.
It was thought that Venus came from the sea, and copper reminds us of this connection with water. All salts of copper, sea green, blue, or green. All ore or copper salt - hydrates, which contain water. Nearly all copper salts are very well soluble in water.
