Artist's description:

This painting was inspired by watching my youngest daughter feeding ducks at our local pond, Blackford Pond, which is part of a local nature reserve in Edinburgh. There was a dreamy relaxed atmosphere that day and I wondered what she was thinking about as she gazed out across the pond.

In my work I am interested in how people experience and connect with the natural landscape in our modern age, especially children like my own who are growing up in a city. I wonder how important the environment will become in my children's lives, and the lives of their children.

This acrylic painting on paper is mounted and framed in a slim white wooden frame with picture cord attached, ready to hang.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, and graphite
