Artist's description:

This watercolour was a part of a series to illustrate an elegant anthology by Christopher Ellott. For each poem I did three originals, on lovely Zerkall Wavy 100% cotton paper in Burnt Umber and Paynes Grey watercolour . These are Chinese style painting and have my Chop (red Chinese signature) as well as my Western signature.

Here is the poem for this painting:
So stand, feel your feet firm
against the pushing weight of world,
staying it, and with your hands
high, holding up the crown
of sky, and you, fine
as mist, smoke, a shape
a breeze could dissipate
as cool as breath
as firm as will
leaving earth
and sky there

There are seven poems, but there are only five of all 21 paintings left!

Materials used:

Artists watercolours. Mount is a black core mount with the top off-white.
