Artist's description:

2-pages pulled from Artist Sketchbook of Landscapes in Pen & Ink on Archival quality paper.

"Colorado Cottonwood" -- Found this on what locals call the WESTERN SLOPE and looking over a high plateau, this beautiful tree was rooted deep in it's natural habitat. Native to the Colorado Plains, with Green-yellow bark that is smooth while young and darkens to a gray, thick, rough and deeply furrowed texture at full maturity. The golden, broad-leafed foliage is glossy and yellow-green and thrives at elevations from 3,500 to 6,500 feet.

** ARTIST SKETCHBOOK SERIES ** All art from the sketchbook series are one-of-a-kind and captured outdoor, plein air style by the artist. Painting landscapes on location comes with its own host of challenges. The light changes constantly, EVERYTHING moves as its drawn, and the weather ALWAYS has an impact. Braving the elements, the final work always captures something not seen by the naked eye. ENJOY!!
