Artist's description:

In late winter and early spring, the sugar bush is a favourite place for many people in Ontario, Quebec and the northeastern USA. Even though times have changed and tractors and all terrain vehicles are most common, horses like this team of Belgians, are sometimes still used to collect the sap to be boiled into maple syrup in the quaint and sometimes colourful sugar shacks built for this purpose.
