I love painting landscapes and seascapes, they offer the opportunity to play with colour and texture and let my imagination run free. For this little painting I collaged a base of maps, music and old letters written on tissue paper in the 1800s and worked into this with acrylic inks, acrylic mediums and more collaged pieces. As I "painted" with this assortment of materials a seascape formed, quiet and brooding but serene, with lots of texture and depth of colour from the multiple layers and glazing. The colours are muted yet rich in depth.
I have included lots of detail pictures to give an idea of the contrasts and subtle detailing in the artwork.
I spend a lot of time on the coast here in the UK and I this has influenced the painting as there are echoes of my favourite Cornish coastlines without there being any direct reference to a specific time or place.
I have chosen a warm creamy coloured mount and a simple black frame to enhance the painting.
The artwork will be sent fully insured and tracked.
