This time of year, Winter, is when everything seems to slow down and freeze over. Shorts are are exchanged for warm pants, sweatshirts are dug from the gallows and jackets are welcomed back into our lives. For other creatures this time of year is usually when they quickly migrate into warmer territories. We land mammals are very envious of this, for we have to sit and endure what ever mother nature will throw at us. This is the basic concept behind this piece. THINK about it. What more are we than birds who simply just can't escape the cold. We all have this desire to fly away, somewhere warm, somewhere nice. But instead we are stuck here, bundled with our frigid bulky jackets and our itchy as hell scarfs.
This Painting was done with only Oil paints on canvas, with the occasional presence of turpentine and paint thinner. No birds were harmed during the making of this piece.
