A six colour screen print of Huddersfield’s iconic Co-op building, with silver birch tree in the foreground (this is the view from outside Home Bargains, if any locals are interested!).
This is the Co-op extension completed in 1936, designed by J.W. Cropper in association with W.A. Johnson, the Co-op’s chief architect. As a powerful retailer in the north of England, the Co-op ran its own architectural department, producing good modern design. Other buildings by Cropper and Johnson include Sunwin House in Bradford and The Dantzic Building in Manchester.
Colours: light blue, sandstone, utilitarian brown, and 3 shades of silvery grey.
Water-based ink, acid free Fabriano paper (285gsm)
