As I came to the top of the escalator in Asda I saw all of Folkestone laid before me and a wonderful late evening sky. I always have my camera with me, for obvious reasons, and so began this painting. It is in acrylic, not my favourite medium, but I love it's spontaneity and I wanted a more modern, contemporary painting.
I liked the way the houses all seemed to be higgledy piggledy and different styles and colours, with the Burstin Hotel standing up like an iced cake in the distance.
