To get to the beach at Cley in Norfolk, you travel along a track through the flat marshes where the birdlife thrives. Rich muddy reed beds flank the track on either side.
At the end of the track is the stoney mound, the other side of which is the slate blue sea. You can wander for miles along the top of the peddled ridge and see only one or two other walkers in the distance. From this perspective, the colours of the lush green land and the icy blue sea touch at a pinpoint on the horizon.
Last year, after a walk on Cley beach, I came back wanting to capture those colours and the feeling of solitary peace I always get when walking along with the marshes on one side and the water on the other.
