Artist's description:

This is my second 3D painting, the 1st being the girl on the swing. This one takes the idea further and consists of three layers of canvas strategically cut out so the viewer sees all the way through to the back. The scene depicts an earth city, sometime in the future, after the colonization of Mars (as indicated by the tattered Mars recruitment posters). I wanted to add some surrealism to the buildings but keep them close enough to home that they would be recognizable as predominantly human. I finished the painting by adding the barrel, eaves to the nearest buildings and the rubbish pile around the left-hand pillar. This painting is very difficult to represent with a flat photo, I have included photos at various angles to help. Some things, such as the condemned building with radiation signs, are difficult to see. If you're interested in this painting and want to see more photos or perhaps a video then message me. This is a style I would like to continue developing but it's very time consuming, keep an eye out for more peices like this in the future.
