Artist's description:

Chlorpromazine is an anti-psychotic medication, and was the subject of a poem written by a talented young schizophrenic writer, in which he described his experience with the drug. The imagery in the poem was so vivid I saw this picture in my head and had to paint it. I wanted to depict the disconnect we can feel; the numbness from the drug - but hope is offered in the rebirthing, the subject cannot see the way forward but is blindly and hopefully looking out to the breaking dawn of his future.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint
