Artist's description:

Here I wanted to portray this chimp in as few brushstrokes as possible. I feel that simplicity is often overlooked and underappreciated in favour of works that are heavily worked on. In a watercolour of this type there isn't much room for mistakes so it's important to sustain a high level of concentration for the whole duration of a painting session. Every brushstroke here counts and no brushstroke is superfluous, each one says something important about the character of this chimpanzee. I have also noticed interestingly that it's one of the rare recent works of mine where I have opted for a portrait format.

This watercolour was executed on high-quality Daler-Rowney, acid-free, cold-pressed 300 gsm watercolour paper, using Winsor & Newton professional water colours.

The artwork would be safely shipped to you from London in a heavy-duty, wide-width postal tube.
