Original artwork description:

Emily Dickinson's poem inspired my title. Her poem reflects the abstract concept of hope and personifies it as a bird. I have hope that we, as humans, can embrace the message of hope our feathered friends remind of us of daily. I added the butterflies as symbols of change. To me, hope and change go hand and hand. I strive to use colorful images to capture nature's impermanence. It's always changing, but in that change we find hope for a brighter tomorrow - where we can live in harmony with the natural world. In today's world, I wish it unchains us from despair and gives us the strength to move forward.
The landscape was taken from the California beaches from my surrounding area. I clipped a Bird of Paradise flower and placed it in a brilliant blue glass vase.
