This painting of Frank Lampard celebrating a goal following the death of his mother, the Chelsea player Frank Lampard is captured celebrating scoring a crucial goal just a few days after the death of his mother. The simple narrative is that Lampard has endured grief and now his sporting triumph has released him from the pain. That Lampard has suffered and now he has risen, with his able team mates, Drogba and Carvalho, holding him as he's removed from the cross, his face lit with an almost celestial glow.
This image I first saw in the Sunday telegraphs newspaper and gave me inspiration as it resembles Renaissance art when looked at in a certain way. I have put the original photo and alongside the Virgin Mary holding Christs lifeless body in Sandro Botticellis ‘Pity’painting to show the inspiration it gave me to paint the “The Chelsea Messiah – Frank Lampard. This is a must for any true Chelsea fan and a wonderful Christmas present to present to Chelsea fan. As far as I know there is not another like this and this is an original one off, painted in acrylic Chelsea colours and on the deep box canvas which is ready to hang on the wall.
