This work is part of the “Charity Project” a Collection of works with the profit proceeds donated to various Charities.
This is a second version of the previous work “Charity Project: Help Make More Home”.
This version is inspired by James May known for the previous TV Presenter of the UK TV Show “Top Gear” 2002-2014, with other presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond. James May later made a series “James May’s Toy Stories” and in Episode 5 includes “Lego Brick House”.
Within this version, I have made a similar “Lego Home” to highlight the lack of affordable accommodation in the UK, such as Grenfell Tower, London, UK, by using a Playable Simple repetitive material of Lego with Four Letters words typically of Objects “Objects of Desire” found around a typical Home, that a Homeless Person would not have access too, and we may take for Granted. I’ve placed the previous Homeless Tent Triangle on the “Lego Home” to suggested that a New Build has been made, and completed the Home.
This is a word search and typically contains 4 by 4 Letter words, acronym, names (names of homeless people) from the Charites below, with special 16 Letter words such as "Hand up not hand out" & "Work out of Poverty"
Contains the name "John Bird" who was homeless at an early age and latter founded the Charity "The Big Issue", other homeless first names contained in the work, to give a human element.
In the work, I have taken a typical "Home" resembling a Toy Home with Shapes, Rectangle, Circle, Square, Star, Hexagon, coloured, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red. Outside the Home are Dark Blue, Triangles, in similar shape to Tents of Homeless people that scatter our City Streets. The Dark Blue Triangles, don't fit in the windows, doors shapes nor match the colours, suggesting they are Excluded from Society, living on the edges Outside. As they are excluded due having "No Fixed Abode" excluded from Benefits, Medical services, etc.
The Home has been given a transparency effect, in order to see the Text words underneath, but maybe seen as giving the Home a Fragile quality, with transparent Glass Home looking out suggesting that we maybe made Homeless due to things out of our control, such as Redundancy.
*** 30% of the Profit from this work will be donated to Homeless Charities.
