Artist's description:

In 1972, Andy Warhol created a series of 10 silk-screen prints of Chairman Mao. He had recently visited China, and noted that the only pictures they have displayed are of Mao. In China in the late 20th century, Mao was the ultimate Pop Art. Following Warhol, here is my take on the cultural icon... suggested to me by my friend Louis who, upon completion, noted that the painting features bright and happy colors, which are in sharp contrast to the actual man and his legacy of poverty and repression. This work of art is acrylic paint on archival quality stretched canvas that is 20" in width, 24" in height, with a stretcher depth of 1.5" -- it is fully stretched, with no staples on the side. It is an original work of art, not a print or reproduction. It is sold unframed and is ready for a suitable framing of your choice. The sides of the painting are painted black for easy and immediate display. The painting is signed on the front by the artist. Please note that colors may vary slightly from the actual painting due to variations in my camera and your monitor. Painting is carefully shipped with postal insurance and includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. Note: This painting ships from the U.S.A. - International Shipping (outside USA) is USPS Priority Mail - buyer is responsible for any extra customs charges, taxes and duties.
