‘A multi-coloured, but somehow calm piece’.
I really enjoyed painting Ceridwen. Although it was sometimes tricky with the size of the canvas and length of my arms! Ceridwen was a labour of love.
I often struggle to limit myself to painting with a small number of colours or sticking with either cold or warm feeling colours. When it came to Ceridwen I didn’t try to restrict myself, I used every colour I wanted to and love the end result. I used red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and magenta, with a small amount of white.
My aim was to form a vibrant, infusion of colour, with no real sense of order. A number of people have told me she resembles a temperature map. Love of colour is a very personal thing, but it is hugely enjoyable.
A fairly large, square piece, radiating colour from every part of it. The edges of the canvas measure 4cm wide and so the painting stands proudly from the wall.
