On a trip to New York last year, I discovered the joy of sitting in a city park on a sunny day, with my sketch-book and oil pastels. As I sat in the iconic Central Park in the shade of the trees, I made several sketches of the colourful city-scape. Back in my studio in London, these sketches were the inspiration for a series of New York paintings.
