Artist's description:

Chinese pottery inspires me a lot!

For this painting I mixed celadon, a color derived from the greenish ceramic glaze that is used on stoneware and which is particularly valued in China, Korea, Thailand, and Japan. It mostly covers the blue flowers underneath, representing the white pottery and porcelain decorated under the glaze with a blue pigment, generally cobalt oxide. Blue and white decoration first became widely used in Chinese porcelain in the 14th century, after the cobalt pigment for the blue began to be imported from Persia. A wonderful country I visited while living in Dubai.
