This fun and quirky piece is called Cat in the hat due to obvious reasons! its a fun and playful piece that would capture many many peoples eye! I love the bold colors and the use of shading in the hat and the bow tie. I try my best to contrast the center piece and the background, to make the center piece pop out, but at the same time, you know the background is there and it is hard to not pay attention to it. My inspiration actually came from the various cats that wonder into my garden and try to invite themselves into my home, as if they almost own the place themselves, they walk around with an attitude of royalty. I think that cats, in general, do tend to behave this way. This artwork could even be said to be related back to the times when cats where treated as royalty and people use to kneel before them.
