Artist's description:

There are several of these raised fishing huts on the Gironde river north of Bordeaux. Made of old pieces of wood and metal they have large nets which are lowered into the river as the tide comes in, capturing any fish that happen to swim past. They are based on ones used in Vietnam which was once a French protectorate.

The painting continues round the sides of the canvas so there is no need for framing (unless you want to) and has been fitted with chord so is ready to hang. It has been signed on the front and sealed with an acrylic varnish.
