Artist's description:

Calligraphy word "Al-Mu'min"(Name #7), The Faithful, The One who gives Emaan and security. When we look at this Name linguistically, it gives us two primary meanings: 1) From emaan, it means The One who gives emaan. Emaan is tasdeeq (تصديق): affirmation.Mu’min is One who has emaan, One who gives emaan and One who believes. Emaan is the opposite of taktheeb (تكذيب): denial. When we have emaan in something, we affirm that is true. For example, in surah Yusuf, the sons of Ya’qub alayhi salaam said to him: ‘you will not believe in us’, meaning you will not affirm our truthfulness. Mu’min is One who believes, gives emaan and affirms the truth. 2) From aman (safety, security and freedom from fear), The One who gives Security and Peace. The opposite of security is ikhaafah (اخافة): fear, so Mu’min is The One who removes the fear. In surah Quraysh we learn: وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ, and He gave them security from fear. Furthermore, from this same root is the word amaanah (امانة), which give Al Mu’min the meaning of The One who is Faithful. Al Mu’min is mentioned once in the Qur’an, in suratul Hashr, ayah 23. I took little inspiration for writing from the movement and harmony of Arabic Scripts like khat e diwani, Khat e diwani jeli and Riqa diwani. This cursive style developed during the reign of the early Ottoman Turks (16th century ). It was invented by Housam Roumi. It was labeled the Diwani script because it was used in the Ottoman diwan. If we see overall painting then writing style is contemporary. Writing is composed with Islamic motives which are used in Islamic architecture. They are based on curving and branching vegetal forms. But some of them have foliage and linear geometric patterns in a single design, and some purely abstract . The floral designs have evolved into beautiful and highly complex patterns. I tried to use arabesque color palette in motifs but in few options color palette is inspired from contemporary colors. In mostly paintings square and round motives are used as a "nukta". Some time text is readable sometime not.
