Welcome to our world of art.
This image was taken from a number of photos of shop interiors. I wanted it to look as though the bird ornament was finding his way up or down the cabinet to escape to the fields and stream in the larger framed picture. The wooden panels exposed by peeling plaster acted as possible steps, together with those in the smaller framed picture. I used some beautiful water colour pencils with an irresistible colour range on gessoed paper. There was some water added in places but mostly I rubbed at the surface to give a burnished and textured appearance. By the way the bird made it to the outside world!
