Painted on-site at the MN Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, MN. Features a trio of iris flowers of the variety named "By Design" with a stunning contrast of light, lavender-white top petals, deep, dark purple bottom petals, and brilliant orange beards. The variegated yellow-green and dark green background is created with water-based casein paint, and glazed over with oil. The flowers are accented with iridescent oil paint. The shapes of the flower petals and beards are enhanced by shaping of the paint with palette knife.
Painted in oil over casein on board. Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with ornate molding, a black finish, and a gold inner edge. May be purchased unframed by request.
