Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Butterflies are predominantly a symbol of transformation due to their amazing process of metamorphosis. To Native Americans, the butterfly is a symbol of change, joy and color, whereas in Chinese culture, the butterfly represents love, specifically young love. This 3D collage was certainly created with love - each component carefully and attentively designed using authentic Japanese chiyogami paper. Each butterfly is then raised at differing heights giving the illusion of flight and movement. The golden antennae are made using fine wire.

The collage is done on Canford acid free paper and framed in a delicate lime washed and waxed tulip wood box frame and signed in the bottom right hand corner.

Please note the artwork in the interior view is not to scale.

Materials used:

Japanese chiyogami papers, fine wire
