Abstract encaustic wax painting in mauve, black and purple, created using hot wax, with an encaustic craft iron. Amazing colour, depth and texture. Original and unique.
I loved creating this painting, it is one of my largest in this style, it is created by applying melted wax to the encaustic paper with a heated craft iron, the wax is then manipulated into this shape, using the edge of the iron, and turning the paper 360 degrees, to create this eye-catching centrepiece.
This picture is 39cm x 49cm, painted on encaustic paper and sealed with a specialist encaustic sealer.
Framed in a wide black frame, with a slightly off white mount using acid free tape, strung and ready to hang. Frame measurements are 59 x 79cm.
The picture is signed and dated on the back of the image, and on the back of the frame.
I am always asked "Will it melt?!" This painting survived the summer in my studio, one day in a heat of a 110 degrees fahrenheit / 43 degrees celsius, (see my video blog of that day within the 'me at work' section!) so, can confirm this painting will not melt at any normal room temperatures, but should not be hung in direct sunlight.
I hope you like it!
