This original painting of a stuffed animal is part of my current series entitled "Plush". I start my process by selecting a stuffed animal from the store and then set up a scene using fabric (felt) as a backdrop. I like stuffed animals as subject matter because they have soft edges, are light hearted and evoke nostalgic memories. Conceptually my paintings explore the sense of security I had prior to the global pandemic vs. today.
