This is a single plate Photo etching using the Solar Plate Printmaking technique; a non-toxic printing method which exposes images onto a Polymer coated metal plate using UV light. However the image was computer manipulated prior to fixing it onto the etching plate. A constellation of tiny dots have been added around a central black circle.
Is it the connection to time and memory that makes photographs interesting and potentially uncanny? The uncanny quality of this image lies in the uncertainty of what it depicts - a constellation of stars or an eye?
The print is printed in the traditional Intaglio method onto 100% Cotton Rag paper 285gsm in thickness using an Etching Press. The edition size is 25, and the prints are all numbered and signed on the front, beneath the image and embossed using my SdR logo.
