I love doing these simple still life paintings. Don't let the simple subject matter fool you. There are a dozen different hues, shades of pinks and blues in those white shells. It's amazing how many people look at something and pass it by, without really looking at the something. In this example, these shells are a landscape within themselves. Have you really looked close at an egg shell? The nooks and crannies, the color variations, the seemingly perfect smoothness, is but an illusion.
