Artist's description:

Archival quality materials. This collaged & painting triptych is a mixed media masterpiece boldly contrasting organic and synthetic materials. The main scenery features pieces of a 30' outdoor scroll painting that was completed with petroleum-based acrylic paint and Walmart manufactured fabric. Painted over 3 years indoors and outdoors in British Columbia and Alberta. It depicts Canadian-inspired mountain scenery in a contemporary Chinese Literati style, torn to pieces. These pieces then collaged together at the Banff Centre in 2013 in a performance piece. The new formation of the art makes way for the organic media to fill in the gaps.

Panels built by the artist from sustainably harvested wood, coated with methyl cellulose, marble dust gesso and rabbit skin glue. Completed with a single gouache silhouette striking a pose in the void made by destruction. The silhouettes are symbols of nature's ability to regrow herself if given room. To repair the destruction caused by synthetic consumption-driven living.

This piece is a triptych. Very large. Great for an open contemporary space or lobby.

Materials used:

Reinforced wood panel board, acrylic, cotton, marble gesso, gouache, silkscreen
