Bright Discs is number 3 of my Colour Circle Series. Here I play with colours across the spectrum. I used three layers of paint to build a formal composition. I love the challenge of working with colours that interact with each other. I enjoy creating brightness and beauty because it gives my spirits a lift. I wish to make colours sing in dynamic harmony and I hope viewers will experience good emotions.
A rich quality finish is assured with three layers of oil pigments and time to dry between each layer.

Inspiration came from a DVD held up to the light as it flashed through the spectrum of colours. I thought of spinning rims with radiating bands of colours.

An outer frame is not needed as the sides are painted. Although dated in 2007, the painting is in good condition. Finished with Damar varnish to protect the surface from dust and scratches.

Economic, low carbon shipping. This artwork is taken off the stretcher frame, carefully packed and shipped in a waterproof plastic tube.
Your local picture framer will remount the painting on a new stretcher frame.
