Original artwork description:

I found this woman sitting on a bench in a busy city street in Swansea very affecting.
She had sat to have a break and to get some Winter sunshine into her bones.
I noticed that she was physically shaking and that her hands were slightly bent and misshapen, one hand clasping at her jacket. She seemed a bit palsied and obviously had Parkinson's Disease from these symptoms. My heart went out to her in her daily and ever present struggle with her Parkinson's.
Her face was strangely calm, dignified, momentarily at peace in the winter sunshine, although her hands were bent and twisted, her appearance ruffled and a bit worn.
Her dignity and grace still shone through as brightly as the winter sun illuminating her attractive hair and attractive face. I have painted her in an expressive manner, particularly her hands, to express the constant, incessant wearing repetitiveness of her affliction. Her jacket and trouseurs seemed like textured sails buffeted constantly by her Parkinson's.
