Artist's description:

Buffalo Calf Road Woman, (Bygone Badass Broads). Her story took place in a time when Political Correctness did not exist. She was a Cheyenne Indian who had joined Crazy Horse's Army (a Sioux Indian who joined the Sioux and Cheyenne together)to go up against the US Army. She enlisted with her brother and her husband. In the first battle with the US Army the American Indians were losing so they started to retreat. Well everyone except for Buffalo Calf Road Woman. She rode into the line of fire to save her injured brother (ahem, major cahones). Several days later they went up against Custer at Battle of Little Bighorn. Well this badass broad actually pulled Custer down off his horse which led to his demise. They then changed her name to 'Brave Woman'. The Cheyenne fearing revenge from the US Army called for a ban of silence about Brave Woman for 100 summers. The ban ended in 2005, so her part in that battle is now allowed to be told.
