Artist's description:

A drawing of a pile of crumpled clothing inspired this painting. When it came time to create the painting, I was driven by a desire to conjure a visually challenging image from banal subject matter. As I sketched the drawing onto the canvas, I transformed parts of the clothing into obscure, colorful shapes and added animal parts such as a tail. Other parts of the image faintly resemble a skull and a beak. The creature clutches a much smaller, obscure creature in its beak.
