While living overseas I encountered other cultures, religions, and ways of seeing the world. One of the most fascinating I discovered was the Bodhisattva, a being that compassionately refrains from entering nirvana in order to save others and is worshiped as a deity in Mahayana Buddhism. This painting was inspired by an image I found carved on a temple in Indonesia and I transformed it into my idea of a Bodhisattva. I wanted the figure to appear spiritual and other-worldly at the same time. I obviously took liberties with the colour and style, and do not mean to offend anyone in any way.
All of my artworks come with a signed and dated certificate of authenticity.
I use archival quality watercolour paper and paint with professional grade acrylics with high quality color pigments that have very good to excellent resistance to fading.
