Artist's description:

England won the World Cup in 1966 - I was 12 years old - BOBBY Moore was the England captain - a national hero in 1966 and a cultural icon ever since.

After the match, I went to the local park with a couple of friends and a very old leather football... I was Bobby Moore, my friends were Martin Peters (scorer of one of England's 4 goals) and Geoff Hurst (scorer of a World Cup fnal hat-trick) - at the time, all 3 players were West Ham players.

This Neo-Pop portrait - 'BOBBY' - is one of a growing collection of Sporting Legend artworks I've made - all of these portraits utilise the compositional devices seen in BOBBY i.e. a square format with single colour rectangular blocks, iconic images of the legend all overlaid with blocks of coloured spots presented in grid format.

Sporting Legend Portrait Commissions (via Artfinder) would be considered. Depending on demand, each 'Legend' artwork has the potential to be printed significantly bigger sets of 5 - enquiries must be made via the Artfinder website.
