Artist's description:

To wake up in April and see snow on the ground got me out of bed and into the forest with ease. The sky was clear but a frosty mist hung in the trees creating a haze of blue which echoed in the bluebells peeping through the snow. After sitting for a while I produced some sketches and then headed back to a warm kitchen to set up my studio.

I wanted to get the feeling of sitting amongst the trees and bluebells and replicate the rapture of nature. The quick rapid marks and application of thick over thin paint gives an almost ghostly feel to the scene.
