Artist's description:

I've a real love of bluebells that stems back to springtime walks in bluebell woods as a kid with my Mum who loved every single flower that grew wild. She instilled a respect for every little blossom, each in its own season and in its own proper environment.
So I had planned to paint a million bluebells on a massive canvas but, well, perhaps it was a better idea to see how it went on a smaller one first. I chose a section of flat canvas and then pinned it over the stretcher and framed it in a simple modern white frame.
I used my sketches and photos from the bluebell woods along the Whitsbury Road near Fordingbridge on the Hampshire/Dorset border. Then once home again, I finished painting in the studio.
Its 15 x 15 cm x 2cm deep, the frame is 23cm square.
