Inspiration is everywhere...including the eye doctor! The Blue Tortoise collection was heavily influenced by my new pair of glasses (thank you, Vera Bradley). Blues and browns are a favorite color pairing of mine, so this summer, I decided to work on a small collection of these monoprint and collage florals that began as a sketchbook concept. I just so happen to have some wallpaper books laying around the studio because well, I LOVE WALLPAPER. And from there, the Blue Tortoise collection was born.
6x8 in size (image dimensions are meant to accommodate a mat with a 5"x7" opening) , and created on wallpaper mounted to an archival board. A monoprint and my painted paper collage form the abstracted floral imagery and "vase", complete with my signature mark making. Varnished with an archival satin finish, and ready to pop into the standard 8x10 mat/frame combo frame of your choosing. Signed, numbered, and dated on the back. A certificate of authenticity is also included.
