Sometimes I like to paint objects (particularly, fruits and veggies) in a somewhat surrealistic way: larger-than–life, in unusual arrangements, etc., which can make a statement whether it's appreciated for its composition, color/ textural effects, or for its deeper meaning. This is one of my "Meaningful Veggies". It depicts a flow of orange pumpkins, among which one is bright blue. Stark color contrast provides element of drama. Themes of being special/ unique, daring to differ, going against accepted standards, loneliness in a crowd may come to mind, when one looks at this painting.
Painted with acrylic paint on stretched, gallery-wrapped canvas. The photo image does not do any justice to this piece of art. Finished with several coats of clear varnish to protect investment for years of display. Ready to be hanged with or without a frame. Sides of canvas painted so framing is not necessary.
